Earth and Venus are two planets in our Solar System with a lot of similarities, but also a few key differences.

Earth has a solid iron core surrounded by molten rocks and minerals. This core gives the planet its magnetic field which helps protect it from solar winds or radiation.

This difference in temperature is largely due to the composition of their atmospheres; Earth has an atmosphere composed primarily of nitrogen and oxygen while Venus’ atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide which traps heat near the planet’s surface. As a result, temperatures on Venus can reach up to 864 degrees Fahrenheit!

Differences in Terrain

The terrain of each planet provides yet another stark contrast between them. Earth’s terrain features mountains, rivers, oceans, deserts, forests, grasslands–you name it!

On the flip side, Venus’ terrain consists mostly of vast plains made up of lava flows that were created by volcanic activity thousands of years ago. These volcanoes are still active today which further shapes the landscape on Venus over time.
