Our solar system is filled with a variety of planets, some of which are more similar to each other than others.
Two of the most interesting planets that don’t share many similarities are Earth and Saturn. Both have unique features that make them stand out from the rest of the planets in our Solar System.

Size and Density Differences
One of the biggest distinctions between Earth and Saturn isn’t even visible from outer space – it’s their size. Earth is much smaller than Saturn; it has a radius of 3,959 miles while Saturn has a radius that is nine times larger at 36,184 miles!
That’s not all they differ on – Earth is also much denser than Saturn because it consists mainly of rock and metal while Saturn consists mainly of gas.
This means that although they may look similar in size when viewed from outer space, they can be vastly different when up close.
Composition Differences
Earth and Saturn also differ in composition. As mentioned before, Earth consists mainly of rock and metal while Saturn consists mainly of gas such as hydrogen and helium.
Because Earth is so dense its gravity pulls it together tightly, making it one solid mass instead of an atmosphere like on Saturn.
On top of this, the surface pressure on Earth is much higher than that found on Saturn or any other planet in our Solar System for that matter; this makes life possible here on our planet!
Atmospheric Differences
Finally, both planets have very different atmospheres from each other; if you were to take away their atmospheres you wouldn’t even recognize them as being part of the same Solar System!
On Earth, we have oxygen-rich air which sustains all plant and animal life but on Saturn, there isn’t an ounce of oxygen to be found anywhere because its atmosphere is made up almost entirely of hydrogen and helium gas with traces amounts of ammonia, methane, water vapor, and carbon dioxide mixed in as well!
